Florence Acque Picture here. I am a Native American from the Pueblo of Zuni in New Mexico. I have been in the field of education for 26 years. I have taught in the elementary grades but am currently teaching third grade and have been for the last eight years. I enjoy working with the children of my community and am currently working towards a Masters in Education. My favorite books are folktales which tell why certain things are as they are in the real world. Of course, these are fictitious but it takes us back to nature, etc. I also like books that deal with real life experiences which children go through. It helps them to relate to others who have similar life experience whether they are positve or not. My favorite authors are Maurice Sendak and Michael Lacapa. My favorite illustrator is Michael Lacapa. MY FAVORITE STORYTELLING LINKS http://www.manhattan.lib.ks.us/bklink.html MY FAVORITE CHILDREN’S LITERATURE RESOURCES http://www.crocker.com/~rebotis
