Charles Hustito, born on a misty moring in July 29, 1941, at the Pueblo of Zuni, New Mexico. Our home was very simple stone masoned house with dirt roof, when it rained it poured inside the house. I was enrolled at St. Anthony Mission School, where I attended up to 4th grade. I went to live with my mother's uncle, at Coolidge, Arizona, until in my sophmore year, returned to Zuni, and attended Catherial High School, Gallup, NM. Entered into the Army in 1965-67, during the Vietnam Conflick, after my military obligation, entered the work force, held positions as Zuni Tribal Judge, Tribal Councilman, Legislative-Aide to Senator Gloria Howes, in the NM legislative sessions during 1989-1972, McKinley County Clerk's Office, as Voting Rights Coordinator, for Zuni area. After twenty some years, in the Spring Semester, 1997 enrolled at UNM-Gallup Branch. I have earned AA-Degree, in General Studies, and Bachelors of Unversity Studies, now taking courses towards teacher certification, and a second degree in education. I am happy married for 29 years, we have combined family of four children, and fourteen grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
