NAME

I am a person who has always loved children's literature. I collect children's books and am a book scavenger. I have about 600 children's books and I'm still collecting. I started collecting with my daughter, who is now 23, and I'm currently collecting for my adopted sons. I am of Hispanic and Pueblo culture. I am married and have eight children (only one is a natural child). I have worked in early childhood for 22 years. I am now working on my Bachelors of Education degree. My plan is to teach Mid-school literature.

My favorite books are books that have historical value or that relate to cultures ( Chicken Sunday,American Girl stories,The Unbreakable Code)..

I really don't have a favorite author, but I chose Robert Munsch as the author I reported on for the CIMTE 443 class. I admire everyone who attemplts to write children's stories. It's their art and all art for chidlren has it's own beauty.

My favorite illustators are Maurice Sendak, Jan Brett, and Iza Trapani. They all help the imagination to soar and makebelieve becomes a reality through their illustrations.
